Get to Know Jill

LRH - Color-74 (1).jpg

I am excited to be running for Leduc City Council. Leduc is my hometown, where both my husband and I grew up, got married, and have continued our ties to this amazing community. After living abroad for nearly 20 years with my husband and our two daughters, it feels great to be back and re-rooted in the community I love. Leduc has always been my hometown, and I’m passionate about contributing to its future as an elected councillor.

I bring with me a strong understanding of government and governance, combined with practical experience working in both the private and not-for-profit sectors. This unique background gives me a clear understanding of how to balance economic growth with the needs of our residents, especially when it comes to affordable housing solutions in the Leduc region. My time living abroad has also given me a greater appreciation for democracy and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference through public service.

My years of experience in business ownership and management have given me a unique perspective on how to balance budgets, make informed decisions, and solve problems creatively. I know how to manage resources effectively, and I’m committed to applying those skills to ensure that Leduc continues to grow in a sustainable, fiscally responsible manner.

In my current position with one of Leduc's most noteworthy not-for-profit organizations, I am responsible for fundraising events, community awareness initiatives and board of directors relations.

My broad range of entrepreneurial, administrative, and public relations experiences help me excel in this role. I hold a Bachelor of Physical Education with a specialization in Older Adults from the University of Alberta as well as a diploma in Volunteer Management from Grant MacEwan Community College.

I love spending time outdoors whenever possible and enjoy taking in the Alberta seasons through gardening, golfing and cross-country skiing.
